How to summarize half a human lifetime of joy spent with four wonderful Seeing Eye® dogs — the love, and yes, eventually, the heartbreak of having to say good-bye. For Rebecca Lineberger, these haiku were her answer, her way of healing after she lost her beloved Eagle. But as three times before, out of sadness comes joy, with the beginning of yet another journey with her fifth dog, and still more adventures waiting for them to share.

Through the poems in Haiku Heartsong, Rebecca (who earned her Ph.D. with the help of her first Seeing Eye® dog, Minx) shares glimpses into her life, at work and at play, with each of her beloved guides.

While the poems are a tribute to her own dogs, they will touch the heart of anyone who ever has loved a dog. It is the author’s hope that everyone so blessed will find love and laughter, and healing too, in these Haiku journeys.
